What makes Subway famous is its menu. The favorites in the menu are the Italian B.M.T, Tuna and the Subway Club. The Italian B.M.T., which meant Biggest, Meatiest and Tastiest, comes with Genoa salami, spicy pepperoni, and Black Forest Ham, as well as vegetables on freshly baked bread. The Tuna Sandwich has flaked tuna, mixed with mayo, and fresh vegetables. The Subway Club Sandwich is made of freshly baked bread with tender sliced turkey breast, lean roast beef and tasty Black Forest ham with the customer’s choice of fresh vegetables.

The other sandwiches on the menu are Meatball Marinara, the Chicken & Bacon Ranch, Subway Melt subs, Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki, Big Hot Pastrami Melt, Spicy Italian and Veggie Delite.

The Submarine sandwiches are available in six-inch and foot-long sizes. The restaurant also offers the four-inch version, called Mini Sub, made especially for kids.

About Subway

Subway started in August 1965 when its first store opened in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Fred DeLuca, chief executive officer and co-founder of Subway, was pursuing his dream of becoming a medical doctor so he set up the business as a way to help pay for his education. A family friend, Dr. Peter Buck, suggested that he open a submarine sandwich shop. Buck loaned DeLuca $1,000 and also offered to become his partner. DeLuca then named their first shop Pete’s Super Submarines after Buck. To expand their business, they decided to go into franchising. Their first franchise branch opened in Wallingford, Connecticut in 1974 and 10 years later, their first international franchise store opened in Bahrain.
