The first Zaxby’s Catering was opened in Statesboro, Georgia in 1990 by founders Zach Mcleroy and Tony Townley. Although there were plenty fast food or sit-down dining restaurants in their community, the two childhood friends decided to open their own restaurant because they felt something was missing. The two who loved playing basketball agreed that the chicken they could find in Statesboro was okay but not what they were looking for. They wanted their chicken to be fresh and zesty just like how it tasted at the wing joints where they went to school. At the same time, the local wing joints were staid and did not have any personality. So, they came up with the idea of putting up their own restaurant, and thus, Zaxby’s came into being with their cheap Zaxbys’s prices.

Zaxby’s concept of quick, casual restaurant became successful, McLeroy and Townly opened four more. They started franchising their brand in 1994. Since then, the food chain has grown to more than 365 units in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississipi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. Zaxby, which is based in Atlanta, Georgia, offers hand-breaded chicken fingers, jumbo buffalo wings, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and sauces. The most popular dish is the Chicken Fingerz, which consists of four bite strips of juicy and crispy chicken with slight onion and garlic flavor.

The restaurant’s catering services offers Party Platterz™, which are perfect for any get-together. The platter could feed between eight to 18 persons and include garnish and sauces. The choices include the Buffalo Fingerz® , the Wings Platterz, the Chicken Fingerz Platter, and the Zampler Platterz.

Buffalo Fingerz® Platter, which has lightly battered chicken tenderloins tossed in your choice of sauces and served with celery and ranch.

The Wings Platterz, with a choice of traditional or boneless, comes with wings smothered in up to four of the nine mouth-watering sauces and served with Celery and Ranch.

The Chicken Fingerz Platterhas lightly battered chicken tenderloins served with Zax Sauce®.

The Zampler Platterz consists of traditional wings with Fingerz or Boneless Wings with Fingerz in one platter. It is served with celery, Ranch and Zax Sauce®.
